About Michael McFadden Design
Projects
Michael excels at traditional and contemporary architecture. From kitchen remodels to high-end residences, he works within budget and space constraints to achieve comfortable, notable and environmentally conscience designs. He's comfortable meeting the needs of his clients, negotiating with city permitting offices and collaborating with construction leads. Many of his previous projects have been published and received architectural awards while working for 18 years at Stuart Silk Architects (SSA).
Personal
Michael is Midwest native that was lured to the Northwest by the sea and mountains. As a kid, his summers were spent Sailing & wind-surfing on Lake Michigan and winters he was occupied with skiing racing on the icy slopes of the U.P (Upper Peninsula) & Wisconsin. His surgeon father and Artist mother tried to keep him busy with handyman projects and lots of sports. He found architecture in his sophomore year of college and loved the creativity and discipline it took to make something memorable. He has been doing residential architecture for the last 25 years and enjoys the personal connection he is able to make with his clients while designing their dream homes. In his free time he enjoys traveling with his wife and high school-age children. When he has time away from family he enjoys playing - ice hockey, bonsai pruning, home brewing and gardening.
Education
Michael McFadden holds a Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
