Laurelhurst Remodel
The goal for the remodel/addition of this 1923 home was to modernize the floor plan for the main living space and master bedroom suite and to give a seamless flow from the interior to newly cover exterior space off of the living room.
When we recently remodeled our historic, 96 year old Seattle home, we needed an architect who could keep the integrity of our home while adding updates and renovations that would make the home comfortable for a modern lifestyle. Michael did an outstanding job of combing modern with traditional. We have used several architects over the past 20 years for remodels for two previous homes , and we never found anyone as easy to work with from the original design to the project’s completion. Michael owned the project and was always personally available to address any unforeseen issues that you get when you are remodeling an older home. Remodels are never easy, but with the right team they are very rewarding. We also worried that the overall cost of the remodel might be greater than the resale value of our home post remodel. We are now convinced that every dollar was well spent and that our remodel will definitely lead to substantial appreciation to our home while making it considerably more livable.
Michael was regarded as the top designer at one of the best architectural firms in Seattle. We felt fortunate to have him work on our project. Michael was always accessible, he got back to us immediately and he paid careful attention to every detail from the crown molding, to the window design, to the bearing walls. He foresaw problems and quickly fixed any problems that arose. Not only is Michael an excellent architect, but he is also an extremely nice person and a pleasure to have on any team. We cannot recommend Michael highly enough. We have already used Michael again for a smaller project that needed his professional expertise and we will definitely use him for future projects.
