This 1970 rambler was a closed space house with limited natural light and tired materials. Walls were replaced with steel headers to create a contemporary open palate for a young family that liked to entertain.  Natural and eco-friendly materials including bamboo floors, low VOC paint, 5 star energy appliances and windows with memorable design made this home a 2006 Built Green Remodel Winner.

Michael was the Project Lead for this effort.  He procured the city permits, designed the space, coordinated contractors and selected on the interior materials.

This published Kirkland Rambler remodel removed 3 walls and focused on sustainable Built Green materials including bamboo floors, non-toxic paint and a refurbished wood stove. The expansive, open living space has accommodated many neighborhood progressive dinners.
